taking national politics out of Ashford Borough Council

Welcome to our new website

see our 12 point plan

Ashford Independent Councillors continue to implement their 12 point plan for the improvement of the Borough

The 3 elected councillors actively attend committee meetings and ask questions about how your local Council Tax is being spent and raise issues for open debate concerning the efficient running of the Council.

There are several reasons why we feel that National Party Politics should not dictate how your local council at Ashford is run, but the over-riding one is that local peoples views are the most important consideration in local politics.

TOGETHER WE CAN CHANGE HOW THE COUNCIL IS RUN

Ashford Borough Council continues to experience secretive, undemocratic and highly Political Local Government which often ignores your elected representatives
Ask yourself: do present policies give a better life for residents, and are you satisfied with the way new developments are being handled, or is it time for a change?
Ashford Independents are an influential group in the Council. We believe there is no place for Party Politics in Local Government.

Our first loyalty is to local residents, not to a National Political Party.
We have no Whip but members work together for the common good of the Independent cause, concentrating on the needs of their Wards and promoting agreed Policies on Borough-wide issues.
